Meet Noush – Our Head of Marketing

By July 19, 2024No Comments

At SuiteFiles, we’re proud to have a team that blends deep industry expertise with a passion for innovation. Among our stellar senior leadership team is Noush Isaac, our Head of Marketing, whose wealth of expertise and market insights empower us to continue growing. We recently sat down with Noush to get insights into her professional journey and the mindset of marketing success she brings to SuiteFiles.

Could you share a highlight from your career before joining SuiteFiles?

Before I joined SuiteFiles, a standout moment in my career was leading my previous company’s transition from a sales-led to a hybrid product-led and sales-led growth model. This significant change was implemented swiftly over two months and involved the entire team. It was a rewarding experience because it aligned perfectly with our company’s vision, mission, and values, fulfilling a real need for our audience. This project wasn’t just about business transformation; it significantly boosted company morale and felt genuinely purposeful.

What’s one of your proudest achievements in marketing that really stands out for you?

One of my proudest marketing achievements was while I worked at a food rescue non-profit. Initially hired to manage volunteers, I quickly saw the potential to expand our impact through marketing. I took on the annual fundraising campaign, “Make a Meal in May,” which became a significant community and financial success. Over five years, we tripled our fundraising results and deeply engaged the community, which was immensely gratifying both personally and professionally.

Looking back, is there a particular campaign or project that taught you a valuable lesson? What was it about?

The “Make a Meal in May” campaign not only achieved great financial and community engagement results but also taught me the importance of connecting with the community and building lasting relationships. This experience reinforced the critical role of understanding and engaging with your audience deeply, a lesson that has been invaluable throughout my career and that I’ve found is just as important in tech marketing as it was in a non-profit

How do you approach crafting a successful marketing strategy? Any insider tips?

Creating a successful marketing strategy starts with a clear understanding of the business’s overall goals and how marketing can support these objectives. It’s essential to align with the company’s strategic direction and assess the team’s capabilities and resources. My approach includes developing strategic pillars such as marketing foundations, brand awareness, demand generation, and demand capture. I emphasize the importance of laying solid strategic groundwork before jumping into tactical activities to ensure every marketing effort is purposeful and cohesive. My go-to quote when it comes to strategy (I wish I could remember who to attribute it to) is “Strategy is about making choices – so make some.” This is the hardest but most important part!

How do you keep up with the rapid changes in marketing trends and technology?

To stay current with marketing trends and technologies, I rely heavily on podcasts because they allow me to learn while I’m doing other things that are important to me, like getting some exercise or walking my dog. My personal favourites are Exit Five & Lenny’s Podcast – two must listens for any budding marketing professionals, especially if you also have an interest in the wider tech and product world!

I also curate my LinkedIn feed to be a rich source of professional learning and participate actively in online marketing communities. These resources provide both strategic insights and practical, actionable tips that help me adapt and apply new tactics effectively in my role.

What’s the best piece of professional advice you’ve ever received and how has it shaped your approach to marketing?

The two best bits of advice I’ve received were shared with me right at the start of my career and they’ve really shaped my approach to work: “do the best you can with the time you have” and “ask for help when you need it.” This guidance has taught me the importance of using my time smartly, being realistic about what’s possible, and the value of leveraging collective knowledge through collaboration. It’s helped me embrace the reality that not everything will be perfect, and it’s better to progress than to stall in pursuit of perfection – plus the important truth that teams are stronger when we can ask for help and learn from each other

What makes you excited about the future for SuiteFiles?

I am genuinely excited about the future of SuiteFiles because of our team’s dynamism and the clear strategic direction we’re pursuing. We’re poised to embark on new and exciting projects that promise to energize the entire company. The alignment and momentum we’re building fills me with enthusiasm about what we can achieve together in the near future.
