Yesterday Microsoft announced a great piece of news for those in New Zealand and Australia using or wanting their Office 365 productivity platform – it’s going to be hosted in Australia by March 2015.
Currently we Australasians have our Office 365 tenants hosted in Singapore and Hong Kong. Generally this is fine but there can be latency issues with things like SharePoint. Being hosted in Australia is huge news. Latency should become less and issue as should concerns about data sovereignty – if we can’t trust our Aussie cousins with our data then who can we trust?
